What Is PCI DSS?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is an internationally recognised information security standard designed specifically to apply to organisations/businesses that handle credit card data.

Any company processing, storing, or transmitting credit card numbers must be PCI DSS compliant.

The PCI DSS was created with one simple goal, to ensure that businesses can process credit and debit card payments securely, protecting businesses and consumers and reducing the likelihood of card fraud.

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) is a private industry group set up by the major credit card companies to define standards for companies that process credit card transactions.

The Data Security Standard (DSS) was defined to prevent credit card fraud, hacking, and other security issues.

PCI QSAs (Qualified Security Assessors) are individuals that are certified to assess merchants and service providers against the standard, and provide a formal report on compliance (ROC).

Non-compliance risks losing the ability to process credit card payments. With so much focus on the PCI compliance, merchants need a process they can trust to help them gain, maintain, and verify their compliance. team wish you all the best!
